Antonio Conte has been looking for ways to reinforce his side in the winter window.
And with Oscar set to depart next month for China for a whopping £60m, he’s been eyeing a pair of Monaco players to reinvest the money in.
While his primary target seems to be midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, he’s also been recommended full-back Sidibe, according to the Times.Chelsea’s French scout Guy Hillion has been watching the pair and has given positive reports to Conte.
With Sidibe excelling on the flanks, he could provide long-term cover for Branislav Ivanovic, whose contract runs out next summer.
He’s been a crucial part of Monaco’s impressive run in Ligue 1, helping the side reach second in the table while scoring 20 more goals than their nearest rival in the French top flight. It doesn’t look like Chelsea will be panic buying in January though.
Today they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points by beating Crystal Palace 1-0.
Their defence has conceded just 11 goals all season.
