The governorship ambition of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has received a boost following pledge by leaders of Ideato South, the local government of Governor Rochas Okorocha, to back him.
Ideato South leaders who stated this, yesterday, when they paid a thank you visit to the former two-time senator in Isiebu, Isiala Mbano council, said their resolve to support his future political activities and, especially in 2019, was informed by the critical role his political structure, the Destiny Organisation played in the governorship supplementary election which returned Governor Okorocha.
“The reason for the visit of the leaders of Ideato South is because of the significant role you played in the 2015 gubernatorial polls, especially in the supplementary governorship polls which made it possible for the return of our son to Government House.
“The only way the Ideato south people can pay you back would be to support every of your future political endeavour, and all you need to do is to intimate us whenever you are ready to vie for any political office,” leader of the group, Chief Eboni Ohiri, said.
Also, Chief Godwin Opara and Sir Chika Uzoma who are chieftains of APC, pointed out that Senator Ararume came to the rescue of the party at a critical time and tilted the governorship election in the favour of the party and their son.
Another leader of the party in Ideato North, Chief Okey Ikoro urged Senator Araraume to continue to support Governor Okorocha who, according to him has done well in the state.
Senator Araraume who expressed gratitude to the people for identifying with and encouraging him, noted that Ideato South council area was the first council to host his political organisation.
“Your visit is an emotional thing to me and I am grateful for identifying and encouraging me. Ideato south was the first to host Destiny Organisation, I am proud of you,” he said.
