Fans watched as Joel entertained the newly-crowned camp royals with some hastily-assembled gags, which had the likes of Adam Thomas in stitches.
Joel, however, couldn’t help but notice that one audience member in particular looked far from impressed.
“I will be honest, it was one of the weirdest gigs I’ve ever done,” Joel told the Bush Telegraph.
“I think Sam was perplexed by the whole thing. I was trying my best not to look at her face.”
Online, one person wrote: “Are they watching something else behind joel. Only sam was the proper reaction #imacelebrity #ImACeleb.”
Another giggled: “That Joel bloke is not funny. Well done, Sam Quek.”
A third harsh critic posted: “I love Sam even more now she doesn't find Joel funny #ImACeleb.”
“Sorry but is Joel actually a comedian? I've had colds funnier than him. Notice how Sam barley smiled at him #ImACeleb,” said someone else.
Not everyone was on Sam’s team, though; as many sympathised with Joel.
What was up with Sam when Joel was telling his joke? #imacelebrity #ImACeleb a bit of attiude I'm sensing…” one person complained.
“God Sam you could have made some effort. Poor Joel didn't have much time to practise thy gig! #imaceleb,” said a second.
