Agent: ‘Man Utd target wants to stay at Benfica’

Victor Lindelof is a long-time target of Manchester United with the Red Devils that are looking for some defence reinforcement in the winter transfer window. The Sweden defender is also said to be a transfer target of Juventus and Inter, but the player’s agent Hasan Cetinakaya has claimed that his client wants to stay at Benfica.

“There are many speculations regarding Lindelof’s future, but he plays in one of the best European clubs already”, the defender’s agent has told A Bola.

“There are many clubs interested in what Benfica are doing, but we are on very good terms with the president and we’ll decide Lindelof’s future together with the club. They will decide it he deserves a contract extension. There are many clubs interested in signing Lindelof too, but he’s happy at Benfica at the moment and doesn’t want to leave.”

Lindelof has a release clause of € 30 million included in his contract with Benfica and neither Juventus nor Inter are willing to meet the player’s release fee, whilst Manchester United may decide to trigger the player’s minimum transfer fee.
