Montreal forward Andrew Shaw was a late scratch against the San Jose Sharks on Friday, as the team announced he would miss the game with concussion-like symptoms that developed late Thursday afternoon.
Although the Canadiens haven't played since Monday when they lost to the Boston Bruins in overtime, there is a good chance a hard, open-ice hit in the neutral zone from Bruins defenseman Torey Krug that made contact with Shaw's head is the cause of the injury.
The team also announced Shaw would not make the trip to Washington, where the Habs will face the Capitals on Saturday night.
