DONE DEAL: TOTTENHAM AGREE FIRST JANUARY TRANSFER

By Harry Sykes
Tottenham goalkeeper Luke McGee has agreed to extend his loan with Peterborough until the end of the season, it was announced on Friday.
The 21-year-old’s current loan was due to end at the beginning of January but the two clubs have reached an agreement for it to run for the remainder of the campaign.Spurs announced on their official Twitter account on Friday afternoon that the highly rated shot stopper will stay at the ABAX Stadium and continue to develop his game for the League One club.

The deal, which is subject to paperwork being formally completed, becomes the first agreed by Spurs in the mid-season window.
McGee has made an excellent impression since joining Peterborough on deadline day in the summer window.

He has
McGee was named on Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino’s Premier League bench twice in February 2016 while first-choice Hugo Lloris was injured.
Despite not yet keeping a clean sheet since his move to the ABAX Stadium, former Northern Ireland international McCann has been impressed by McGee.
“He’s been first-class since he’s come in. Not just his performances on the pitch but his whole demeanour around the building,” McCann told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
“He’s a young lad but he’s come in with a 27, 28-year-old’s shoulders on him. He demands of people in training, if you don’t track a runner he’s out of his goal shouting at you.
“It’s exactly what you need from your goalkeeper. With his ability as well, you’ve got somebody special.”
McGee, who has won a single England Under-17 cap, is highly thought of at White Hart Lane, where he has progressed through the youth-team ranks.
But he is behind senior trio Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm and on-loan Pau Lopez in the goalkeeper pecking order at the Premier League club.
