A tweet from now Vice President-elect Mike Pence about meeting with Carrier union president Chuck Jones resurfaced on Wednesday after Donald Trump blasted the union leader on Twitter.
"Appreciate the chance to meet w/ Chuck Jones & hardworking men of Local 1999 about our efforts to save Carrier jobs,” Pence tweeted in March.
On Wednesday evening, Trump lashed out at Jones, who previously said he “lied his ass off” about the details of the deal to keep Carrier jobs in the US.
Jones told the Washington Post he wanted an explanation from the president-elect about why hundreds of jobs are still moving to Mexico.
Jones also told CNN host Erin Burnett in an interview Wednesday that Trump’s tweet “isn’t very damn nice.”
