Trump May Affect Bilateral Relationship, Warns Bank of México
Nexico, Dec 9 (Prensa Latina) The Bank of Mexico considered ''important to recognize'' that the election of the businessman Donald Trump as president of the United States may affect the relationship with that country, was known today.
'It is important to recognize that this event could affect the structural relationship with our main trading partner,' said Daniel Chiquiar, director general of economic research at the central bank.
According to Chiquiar, it is soon to establish the sectors and regions of the country that could be affected if the new US government complies with Trump´s preaching of the election campaign.
'There is still uncertainty about what rhetoric was and what will become government actions or policies,' Chiquiar said.
Trump has promised to erect a border wall on the common border, which, he said in the campaign, must pay the government of President Enrique Peña Nieto.
He also advanced the expulsion of millions of migrants and the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement, which groups the United States, Mexico and Canada.
