Not even APC can distract me from delivering on my Electoral Promises – Wike

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has said that he would not allow the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the state and national levels to distract him from delivering his electoral promises to the people.
He said that while the APC national leadership wastes its time trying to undo his administration, he had been delivering quality projects to the people of the state.
Governor Wike argued that if the APC national leadership had concentrated half of its energy on improving on the living conditions of Nigerians, the country would have made remarkable progress since 2015.
He spoke on Monday after commissioning the Rumunduru-Eneka Link Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Wike said that he remains committed to fulfilling all his campaign promises.
He said: “While they are busy dismissing policemen, I am busy doing projects. If they owe Nigerians nothing, I owe my people projects. Instead of them to help us make Rivers State better, they are plotting on how to commit evil. My business this year is to deliver projects.”
The governor advised the people to disregard what they read in the newspapers about the state, noting that his administration is on course.
According to him, all the evil machinations of the APC in connivance with their foot soldiers in Rivers State are targeted at making PDP weak before 2019. He said such plots had already failed.
He said that unless the ruling party takes its eyes off Rivers State, APC states will continue to be engrossed in developmental and security struggles.
He said: “You gave me your votes, so I will not give you excuses. That is why I am executing pro-people projects. “
The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Bathuel Iheanyichukwu, who accompanied the governor at the commissioning exercise, said the new road has resolved the traffic challenges in the area and improved the economy of communities along the road.
The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Prince Collins Onunwo, said that Governor Wike had restored the hope of the people of the state.
Also on Monday, Wike inspected ongoing works at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park. He was accompanied by leaders of the state.
As part of activities to mark the Golden Jubilee celebration of Rivers State, the governor promised that the state government will complete all key projects in 2017 which will be christened “Jubilee Projects” to mark the 50th Anniversary.
Governor Wike said the celebration, which will commence in May, will showcase the best of Rivers people.
The Chairman of Rivers State Golden Jubilee Committee, Chief Ferdinand Alabrabra, who presented a report, informed the governor that the unveiling of the Golden Jubilee logo and a world press conference will herald the event.
He said that cultural events and performances will showcase Rivers State to the world, while a book on Rivers State at 50 and recognition awards for those who contributed to the growth of the state will also feature.
