United States: Trump Briefed By Spy Bosses

US PRESIDENT-ELECT Donald Trump was set for an intelligence briefing with the heads of the CIA, FBI and NSA on alleged Russian hacking yesterday after repeatedly criticising their investigations as flawed.
Mr Trump took to Twitter on Thursday after the Washington Post reported that the Democratic Party refused to allow the FBI to examine the email servers they claimed had been hacked into by Russian agents.
He wrote: “So how and why are they so sure about hacking if they never even requested an examination of the computer servers? What is going on?”
In an interview with PBS NewsHour, outgoing US Vice-President Joe Biden laid into Mr Trump, saying: “Grow up, Donald. “Grow up. It’s time to be an adult.”
Mr Biden claimed it was “absolutely mindless” for a president not to have confidence in intelligence agencies.
“The idea that you may know more than the intelligence community knows — it’s like saying I know more about physics than my professor.
“I didn’t read the book, I just know I know more,” he said.
President Barack Obama also weighed in in more diplomatic terms. He said he hoped that once Mr Trump receives briefings and sees how “professional and effective” the intelligence agencies are, tensions would be reduced.
The report presented to the president-elect in his Trump Tower monstrosity was shown to Mr Obama earlier in the week.
US intelligence officials told the Washington Post that the report provides information showing that Russia deliberately hacked into the Democratic National committee to aid Mr Trump’s election.
This supposedly includes evidence of intercepted communications where Russian officials were celebrating Mr Trump’s victory.
